OUR JOURNEY

In 1955 when my grandfather came from Mexico to the United States in search for better economic opportunities for his family.

He worked at Metzger’s Milk Factory on N. Flores St. in San Antonio. Eventually, he saved enough money to bring his wife and children to the US and leased a small house on Hess Street.

My grandmother “Abuela Licha” brought her recipes with her and stayed home to raise her children under strong values. She would always say to never give up and always BE proud of who you are.

After six years, my grandfather took the family back to Mexico. A few years later my grandfather passed away. My grandmother needed to find a way to support herself, so she went to what she knew.

The craft of making chorizo had been in her family for generations, so from her small kitchen she started making and selling chorizo.

Time passed and one day, as she was preparing the ingredients to make her chorizo, she carefully wrote down the recipe and handed it to me.

Learning and preserving the craft of making chorizo at home became my biggest passion.

I believe that when we share traditions, stories, and food memories we create bridges, we build connections, and we become ONE FAMILIA.

Now it’s time to share my abuela’s chorizo seasoning blends with everybody.

Opening this jar is like opening a door into my grandmother’s kitchen. It’s an invitation to experience the old flavors and aromas of Mexican culture.

We hope you enjoy. Buen Provecho!
